The user is required to enter basic demographics, like age and sex, as well as the patient’s current medications and essential lab data (including HbA1c, eGFR, and lipid profile). Clinical information on blood pressure measurements, comorbidities and certain cardiovascular risk factors are also required.

Patients do not have access to the tool, but you can print and share the provided recommendations with them.

Yes, Exandra™ detects serious DDIs between the inputted medications and the kinds it may recommend. However, Exandra™ does not detect or inform the user about the less serious and less common interactions and does not detect DDIs between the in-scope and out-of-scope medications that a patient may be prescribed. Exandra™ does not detect food-to-drug interactions.
Exandra™ sources its information from the latest guidelines published by Canadian professional societies including Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiology and Hypertension Canada. Product monographs were also utilized in developing the recommendation logic.
